Chaos Engine

By now, I am sure that you will have observed that the black metal releases are rarely presented in "Dreamcrossed Twilight" and this happens because according to custom they are included in the reviews column. Now, we “break” that rule including this self financed second work of the Estonians MANATARK, among all these non-classified dark releases. The reason is because it has nothing to do with all these average works in the specific field. The core of the compositions is based on the early '90s of Norway, with mid-tempo rhythms (mainly) that shock with their simplicity, but they don’t “fear” to become metal storms that will tie you down with their promptness, which is a product of the synthetic maturity that characterizes this hopeful band. There are at least three compositions ("Parallels and paring", "Four walls", "We stole your death") that will force even the most fanatic critics of black metal, to moderate their negative comments, recognizing (if not MANATARK as a whole) their brilliant and completely structured point of view. This formerly unknown quartet from Estonia transfers only joy to us, because they have all the fonts to star in the future musical field, if they are passed the torch form the record labels and their origin doesn’t stand an obstacle. For informative reasons only, they played in the Norwegian Inferno festival of 2002 where the selection is quite strict, while their live experiences were further enriched as the support act in the recent IMPALED NAZARENE tour.
