Distorted Horizon

With just four tracks and less than thirty minutes of music, the progressive Estonian act ECHOSILENCE shows an uncontestable ability to play interesting and talented music. Mixing calm atmospheres with kicking riffs and drums, melodic female vocals with complex structures, the band delivers something very progressive, heavy and really catchy at the same time. Imagine that you take THE GATHERING and combine it with SPOCK'S BEARD and IN FLAMES: it could only results in something close to ECHOSILENCE, something between progressive rock, atmospheric music and melodic death metal riffs, with lots of surrounding noises and effects everywhere. I'm sure that those who are into female-fronted melodic metal will love "Distorted horizon", but moreover, many prog metal or prog rock addicts should find it perfect or their tastes. I wish it could have been a real album, I mean a longer release, but such a missing link between genres can only be encouraged and if you don't want to miss something good you may have to try this band.
