Required Sacrifices

See how vast and solid is the metallic universe. The postman gave me a package sent from distant Estonia (formerly part of the Soviet Union). Never heard of Nihilistikrypt before, and now I have the pleasure to receive their debut album: Required Sacrifices – although the band names this release as a demo, an eight track demo is very hard to find. The quintet formed by Orc (v), Sorts (g), Uziel (g), Doomhand (g) and Lord Zombie (d) practices a Death Metal much influenced by traditional Heavy Metal (which is noticed in the guitar riffs) and maybe that’s why their site describes the band as Melodic Death Metal – opposing the release sent to us. But what I heard was effectively a band practicing Death Metal with great influence of traditional Heavy Metal. Among the eight tracks, we have an intro, another one in the end, and two instrumental tracks (maybe that’s why the band qualifies Required Sacrifices as a demo); Nihilistikrypt didn’t reinvent Death Metal, but managed to release a good material (even with a modest production) that pleased my auditory system. I recommend Virus: Human – it summarizes very well the description I gave of the music of the band.
