Ohvrikivi
Forgotten Screams

Ohvrikivi is a band that everyone seems to have heard of, but haven't heard their music. Berg's (ex-Must Missa) solo project started as a way to generate ideas for Missa, so it doesn't come as supirse that this release came in the best UG-format (tape, black'n'white booklet) sounds alot like Missa's first demo. Like you remember, first Must Missa releases were more hate-filled then their current thrash sound.

These few songs were recorded already in 2000 and as explained by Berg, all are songs that didn't make it to Missas records for various reasons. Also the overall sound of this release sound alot like old Missas totaly unproduced demo - all the songs have a bit different volume and they sound all different. To take account that this was recorded to PC and then to a tape repeatedly over the past few years then one can say the sound is good and most importantly has this true UG feel to it. Influenced from old cult bands like Darkthrone, Burzum and Carpathina Forest.

The word "underground" shouldn't be taken wrong way over here - the fact this release has been sitting on shelf without being released to the public has just make it better. I will grade this material not looking the sound and quality, but essential value.

3,5/5
