Growing Apart

When I checked out this album for the very first time there was only one thing that popped out in my mind; dogfood. Fortunately the music itself is very far away from my bad expectations. Before getting this excellent "Growing Apart" in my hands, I had´t ever heard of this interesting Estonian alternative metal band.
Most of the Estonian metal bands that I´ve witnessed have been somehow connected with black metal, like the fabulous Loits or Forgotten Sunrise for example. Pedigree is almost as far from black metal as possible, their music is most close to industrial metal. This is most of all a metal album, but with lots of mechanics and industrial elements. Musically Pedigree can easily be compared to bands like Godflesh and alikes, and also with more challenging bands like Tool, but what´s the most remarkable thing here, is that Pedigree stands strong on its own feet and manage to create very original sounding music with excellent and catchy songs.
With more comprehensive promotion this band would easily be one of the next big names in this genre. As I always try find something to pick on of every single album, I must say that the sounds of "Growing Apart" could´ve been a little more colossal, but I have really no need to complain of anything. Everyone interested of modern, heavy industrial metal, go and get this smashing piece of rising Estonian metal genre.
