Human Ground is a band that has it’s origin in Estonia and their self titled album is their debut. The quality of bands coming from that country is getting better and better and that’s emphasized with the release of this album from Human Ground. The 2004 demo was already pleasant listening too and was a short impression of what you get with this debut, namely well written thrash/death metal. It doesn’t open new doors, but the quality of the songs (especially the riffs and guitar solo‘s) are from a very good level, so there is nothing to be ashamed of. The reason why the music sounds very professional from the beginning should be that almost every member is still or was active in other bands. Only vocalist Pille doesn’t have that experience, but I’ve to tell you that she (yeah ,she) has done a very good job on this album. Her grunts are very good and definitely fits with this kind of music. That’s she’s influenced by Angela Gossow isn’t a real secret. Human Ground is an album that you’ve to check out if you like some technical thrash/death metal.
