Primeval Force

Tharaphita are apparently being touted as one of the best pagan metal bands in Estonia and are looking to expand their reputation in the extreme metal world. Primeval Force is the bands fourth studio album and looks set to gain them more recognition for their work. The style of the album is pagan metal (which seems quite common in the former eastern block countries) with touches of traditional heavy metal in the melodic guitar work. The lead track Sorceress sets the tone for the album with simple yet catchy riffs, a strong rhythm section and gruff vocals. Other tracks that grace the album include the more blackened Destroyer Of Soul , Tongue Of Flame with its NWOBHM style chorus and Throne Of Bone which has a grander feel to it. Another track worth mentioning is the album closer Manalateekond which has a thrashier style with the solid rhythm guitar work. As a whole Primeval Force is a good album which should help build up the bands reputation internationally and allow them to keep growing.
