Loits
Legion Estland

These warriors from Estonian legion continue to surprise with their catchy and cold northern Metal music. Previous demo tape has got quite some response, in our magazine first and foremost, and I was darn curious to hear if it was just a temporary vibe that caught my ear, or Loits is really a band that can make things crush against their deep emotional yet strong and inflaming music. They have not moved far away from that sound and stylistics that were present on the Ei Kahetse Midagi tape, maintaining a cold catchy spirit flowing through the Blackish Heathen Metal whirlwind. Maybe less typically pagan this time, guys focus more on Black Metal riffs and this way they manage yet to narrow the music in order to find their own sound. As far as I´m concerned, this is a fuckin´ right move! An accurate way. Both original tracks quite differ one from another tempo-wise, but that´s maybe two clothes of the band: rawer and calmer. Of course it is not another violent release that are so popular these days, but rather a philosophically-musical outlook to the genre. They are about catching a feeling there, but also care a lot about production, so the final result gets quite a pleasant listen for the audience. And beside that, this recording also has an almost ambient interlude hailing the Estonian warriors, which is rather weird but sounds quite nostalgic actually; as well as Tharaphita cover song Demons´ Night that must be a homage paid to one of the oldest Metal bands in Estonia. I bet it is one of their older tracks that Loits have reworked in quite a burning manner. Resume: if you still have no clue what the hell Loits are, my advice is to check them immediately!
