Promo 2004

PROMO 2004
Review by March 2005
This Promo 2004 of the Estonians brings four new songs, which should also appear on the second official album „A Veiled Empire" and which is to be released shortly. For this the CD-R is not available for public sale. It´s (official) predecessor „The Embraced“ from 2002 was not bad at all, but the four new tracks are better and make me curious for the next full-length. The Estonians have (as expected) improved their songwriting and as it seems also the production and have done even better with this. Like this „Deep Within" breaks out of the typical way of composing of this five-piece and proves that composer Shel has learned a lot. The vocals done by Denis are much more violent, vary between Death grunts and Black Metal screaming and sound well-produced and more balanced. Also the melody played by the guitar is to be recognized and can unfold independently from the keyboards this time. „For The End Of Days“ gives more room to female vocalist Diana compared to „The Embraced“. The same with "„So Let Thy Will Shalt Be". In this song the female vocals really affect the listener while vocalist Denis opposes with deep Death grunts. Great! Hopefully „A Veiled Empire" is soon to arrive. I judge with seven points for loosely orientation. Fans of Dark Metal, symphonic Black Metal with a healthy touch of Gothic should look out from March/April 2005 for „A Veiled Empire". 7/10 - Stephan Becker
