Loits
Vere Kutse Kohustab

A band from Estonia playing black metal and their sophomore album. First of all I should state that I like these guys. Their black metal has some northern folk influences and a Scandinavian touch and I particularly liked the music in the album. I liked the fact that their black metal has a very personal sound and they don’t “borrow” elements from other bands. Most of the songs included in the album are really good and both the musicianship and the arrangements are high above average. I think that the album is a concept one, dealing with Estonia, World War II, and why Estonians fought alongside the Germans, presenting the facts from their point of view. To be honest I don’t really care about the concept and if they are patriots or not. What interests me is the music which is truly good and I feel that we’ll hear again from these guys and soon enough.
